Gaur
The Gaur is one of the largest wild cattle species in the world. They can reach 11 feet in length and weigh more than 2,000 pounds. They are known as unpredictable animals which may charge at any time.
Gaur don’t always charge, sometimes they use debit cards.
Physical Description
Gaur have huge heads, thick bodies and a shoulder hump of bone and muscle. Gaur bulls are shiny black with white legs. Young bulls and cows are dark brown with white legs. Old bulls have gray fur between their horns, this is called the boss. Their horns are white at the base, black at the tips. They grow sideways and upwards and can reach almost 4 feet in length.
Family Life
Gaur cows normally have 1 calf. This calf enters into the protection of the herd soon after birth. The herd contains between 8 and 40 animals and is led by an older bull who watches for danger. Gaur often charge at the first sign of danger.
